What is the purpose of system certifications?

Why do organizations need system certifications? There are a number of obvious benefits of such certifications for organizations.

For example, there are formal requirements for obtaining tax benefits. For example, the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) stipulates that companies that require a lot of energy for their processes can receive tax relief if they can prove that they use energy responsibly. Such companies can provide this proof by obtaining DIN EN ISO 50.001 certification. So for these companies, certification makes immediate sense in terms of saving money.

The situation is similar with environmental management. DIN EN ISO 14.001 defines requirements for the environmental management system of companies.
