You adapt to the environmental conditions as best you can and seek a defensible position within these conditions. You look for attractive business areas within the framework conditions and protect your business as effectively as possible through proprietary standards and/or property rights. One of your success factors is that you can react agilely to changes with your organization. You achieve this by hedging your activities: You make multi-pronged investments and keep your organization flexible so that you can act opportunistically.
As an adaptor, you closely follow movements in relevant markets and quickly initiate adjustments in your organization.
