Situational leadership: Adapt

There is no one ideal leadership style. Lead according to the situation, depending on the employee you are dealing with and the task to be performed. Some employees need concrete instructions and intensive support in the execution. They need close guidance and ongoing control of sub-steps. For other employees, a framework of expectations and higher-level goals are sufficient guidelines. They need only minimal support and appreciate loose leadership. You can ideally involve such employees in the development of concepts.

To lead, however, you should first be clear about whether you want to lead at all, whether you can, and whether your supervisors will let you lead.
